Question: If I want to teach EFT or use it clinically, can I become certified in its use?� If so, what are the requirements?� Must I be a licensed mental health practitioner to have the right to use it with others?�
Answer: There is no official certification process for EFT and therefore no legal restriction on its use.� However, ethically and for professional reasons, one should not use it for a serious mental or physical disorder unless you have proper training in how to approach and treat that disorder.� For example, if you were to use it for such serious conditions as multiple personality disorders or major depressions, it would be extremely unwise to do so unless you were a qualified mental health care professional.
However, there is a way that you can obtain a certificate of completion for Gary Craig�s Basic EFT Course, (the eleven videotapes, four audiotapes and extensive manual).� Obtaining this certificate proves that you have carefully studied and understand all of the videotapes and the manual.� It does not, however, attest to your proficiency in the technique, since that will not have been tested.� A number of practitioners find it very useful to be able to put the initials EFT-CC after their name as proof that they have completed Gary Craig basic training. �To learn more about the EFT Certificate of Completion program visit our EFT Certificate Program area.
